Ecotextile News is believed to be one of the most important sources of information on the latest innovations and happenings in the field of sustainability and textiles. The website provides both an electronic journal and a paper magazine available upon paid subscription. There is also a free weekly newsletter automatically sent out to email subscribers. Its paper magazine is claimed to be the most important environmental magazine for the global textile and clothing supply chain and is published six times per year by MCL Global.
Huffington Post is another well respected source of news articles, with a special section particularly addressing sustainability and fashion. This section contains both the regular news feed and a featured blog feed with guest authors.
The Sourcing Journal contains a rich content of continuously updated articles addressing challenges and opportunities across the apparel and textile supply chains. With around 75,000 readers, it is “the premiere trade publication for apparel and textile executives focused on sourcing and manufacturing”, using their own words.
Since its launch in 2009, Ecouterre has become an established and well-trusted online platform of news articles on the topic of sustainabiltiy and ethics with the fashion industry. In early 2017, the decision was taken to incorporated Ecouterre into its mother company Habitat.com, but with all of its past contents still accessible under the category “Ecouterre” on Habitat.com. The ethos of Ecouterre has been to “follow the evolution of the apparel industry toward a more environmentally sound future, as well as facilitate a conversation about why sustainable fashion matters.”
The Guardian holds a news section about the latest feed on retail and fashion, with sporadic articles specifically concerned with sustainability and fashion. Also, there is a past blog section, named Sustainable Fashion, that is still accessible and contains one independent column and one column sponsored by H&M.
TED Research runs an active blog on its website that contains news and reflective articles on a wide range of topics in the field of sustainable fashion and textiles.
Mistra Future Fashion is an interdisciplinary research program consisting of eight research projects performed by academics at different universities and centers. The purpose of the program is to generate new insights and solutions that can be used by the Swedish fashion industry and other stakeholders to improve their environmental performances and global competitiveness. The website also contains a news section on sustainability issues pertaining to the textile and fashion industry. In addition, there is a free monthly e-newsletter available upon subscription.
The Sustainable Brands website has a “News & Views” section with daily updates on sustainability issues, some of which are relevant particularly to the fashion and textile industry. Also Sustainable Brands provides a free electronic newsletter upon email subscription.
The Nordic Fashion Association (NFA) is a collaborative effort between ten Nordic fashion organizations, which was launched in 2008. The aim is to facilitate inter-Nordic strategic cooperation and to strengthen the Nordic identity and global positioning of Nordic fashion brands and products. The NFA also has a news section, with updates (a couple of times per month) in the sustainability and fashion field.
Triple Pundit holds a news section on Corporate Responsibility that occasionally features articles on sustainability and fashion. In addition, the website holds an old series of news articles that explored the environmental impacts of the apparel industry, and the sustainable fashion movement as a whole. This past article series was published with the support of Levi Strauss & Co and a number of other companies, with some articles still of potential interest today.
Eco Fashion Talk is the website of Sass Brown, a renowned expert, author, researcher, educator and designer in the field of eco fashion design, as well as Acting Assistant Dean for the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. Her website features weekly news, primarily about the work of inspirational eco fashion designers. She also provides a free newsletter, containing an overview of the website news, including Designer Features, Resource Listings, Critique and Commentary, Videos and more.
One of the greatest and first experts in the field, Kate Fletcher (Ph.D., consultant, researcher, lecturer, author, and designer), has her own professional blog on the website. Her blog primarily covers her own work, but also features international news on sustainability, fashion design and textiles.

ELUXE Magazine – a more recent online magazine covering various lifestyle topics including fashion from a sustainability angle
Positive Luxury – an online magazine with a mission is to inspire people to buy better and influence brands to do better
Eco Warrior Princess – a more personal quality blog, launched in 2010, covering topics of sutainable fashion, conscious business, green politics, feminism, eco beauty, wellness and green technology
Eco-Chick – presumably Internet’s first site covering green fashion and beauty for women, with continuous publishing since 2005
