In mid-October this year, a new international network was launched, called the Circular Fashion Network (CFN). The network is an open professional network composed of individuals working professionally, or through non-profit projects, for a more sustainable and circular fashion or textile industry. The purpose of the network is to inspire and facilitate dialogue and cooperation between its members in an organized as well as self-initiated manner. The network is founded by Green Strategy’s Anna Brismar, but will be independent from any organization or company. (It will be coordinated by Anna Brismar as a non-profit engagement.)
Circular Fashion Network is an independent, international network of people working professionally for a more circular and sustainable fashion industry. It is the result of a growing number of people globally becoming increasingly interested in linking textiles and fashion with sustainablity and key principles of circular economy.
So far, the network has 70 members in Sweden, all involved in different sustainability and circularity issues of the textile, apparel and/or fashion industry. Hopefully, the network will spread to other parts of the world, to inspire dialogue and collaboration in the field. At present, CFN consists of a Facebook community page, and a member page on the soon-to-be-launched site Circularfashion.com. (Circularfashion.com is however independent from the CFN network and is a sub-project of Green Strategy.) As member, one will be invited to upcoming seminars, workshops, afterworks, and other events to come. The first afterwork was held in Stockholm on December 11, in the friendly and inspirational lounge bar of Hotel Rival. A great start of the network!
If you are interested in joining CFN, please send an email to info@circularfashion.com and include a short description of your present work in the field and your affiliation (company, organization or non-profit project). All membership information will be undisclosed to any outside party and will be handled with full integrity (by Anna Brismar). You do not need to be based in Sweden to become a member. The only criteria to becoming a member is that you: (a) are working, either professionally or non-profit, with sustainability issue pertaining to the textile, apparel or fashion industry; (b) are interested in circular thinking; and (c) have a good and honest intent. Membership is free of charge and you can enter and leave the network any time. At present, the network meetings will be held in Stockholm, but it is my hope that the network will spread to other cities and nations around the world in the coming years.

Circular Fashion Network is on Facebook. Welcome to join the network or follow the conversation!
