About the Course
What is this course?
Circular Fashion Essentials is a new online course, to be premiered in autumn 2021. The course will provide the participants with the essentials of circular fashion. It is a live, interactive and engaging program, where students will participate in online lectures and workshops via Zoom. Participants will join from all over the world, thereby creating a dynamic environment with engaging discussions for real-life applications. The course facilitators (Anna Brismar and Manpan Wungak) will be present in all lectures and workshops to enable direct interactions with the participants.
The course has been developed by Anna Brismar (senior consultant and owner of Green Strategy) in partnership with Manpan Wungak (Business Mentor and Co-founder of Sustainable World Corportion Nigeria Ltd).
Since 2014, Anna has been instrumental in developing and expanding the field of circular fashion. She not only coined and defined the term circular fashion in 2014, but since, has also developed key principles, models, and tools, all of which will be presented during the course. The same tools and concepts are used by Brismar as part of Green Strategy’s professional consultancy services. They may now be yours to benefit from in your own work.
When will then course be given?
The course will be held for five consecutive weeks, starting on a Monday in September and ending on a Friday in October (2021). The specific dates are yet to be announced. The course is a part-time engagement, although it is fully possible to engage in the course full time, depending on your own level of commitment in terms of the home assignments, and your own business (or work life) applications.
What is the course schedule?
The course will contain Monday lectures, between 10:00 am – 11:00 am every week. The lectures will be held by Anna Brismar, with the assistance of Manpan Wungak for the Q&As at the end of each lecture. In addition, there will be Friday workshops, between 10 am – 12 am every week, convened by Manpan Wungak. The workhops will be focused on discussions and expansions on the lectures, with real-world applications for the participants’ businesses or worklife. In the weeks, there will also be home assignments to be completed, in the form of readings and exercises. Once you have successfully attended all of the lectures and workshops (at minimum 4 lectures and 4 workshops) and completed the home assignments, you will be eligible for a course certification at the end of the course.
Who is the course for?
The course is designed for any practitioner, designer, business owner, NGO representative, consultant, sustainability manager, academic, or private individual with an interest in circularity, sustainability, fashion, apparel, and textiles.
What is required to join the course?
There are no particular prerequisites for joining the course. You may be a new entrepreneur, experienced designer, long-term business consultant, senior sustainability manager, passionate teacher, NGO representative, or a student with a growing interest in circularity or sustainability issues. Any background is welcome! Great diversity among the participants will make the discussions even more lively and beneficial.
What is the level of learning?
The depth and complexity of your learning will be mainly up to you, as there will be home assignments that take you even deeper into the subject. You will have plenty of time in the Friday workshops to ask any questions of relevance, which may broaden and deepen your understanding further. And, if you are a start-up entrepreneur or a business owner, you will have the opportunity to receive up-to-date insights and information, as well as new ideas and suggestions for how to directly apply the lessons from the course to your own business.
How do I register and pay for the course?
To register for the course, please go to Step 1 to set up your account on this website. Hereafter, continue to Step 2 to select your correct course fee (with regards to possible discount and VAT); simply click on the red button for Step 2 in the box to the right (or click here or on “Step 2” in the dropdown menu). Once you have selected your course fee, you will automatically be taken to Step 3 to view your cart. In Step 3, you will proceed to payment, which automatically takes you to Step 4 (Checkout) to complete your payment. All payments are made via PayPal. (You do not need a PayPal account for this, but can pay via your bankaccount.)
Once your payment has been successful, you will receive a receipt from PayPal in your email inbox. Shortly hereafter, we will send you an email to confirm that you have been registered for the course. Over the coming days, we will also send you practical information about the course program, how to join for our first class via Zoom, etc.
When is the last date for registration?
Registration is open until Friday September 3rd at 23:59 CEST. Thereafter, we will not be able to process any new participants.
What is the course fee?
The standard course fee is USD 500 + 25% VAT. If you are required to pay VAT (read more below), your total payment will be USD 500 + 25% VAT, i.e. USD 625. However, some participants are eligible for a 50% discount, which will result in a total fee of USD 250 excluding VAT. Four possible payments are thus possible depending on your status:
- Standard course fee plus VAT: USD 500 + 25% VAT = USD 625
- Standard course fee without VAT: USD 500
- Discounted course fee plus VAT: USD 250 + 25% VAT = USD 312:50
- Discounted course fee without VAT: USD 250

How do I know if I need to pay VAT?
You are required to pay 25% VAT, in addition to the course fee, if you are:
- A private person in any country, e.g. an employed designer who takes the course privately.
- An academic in any country, e.g. a student or researcher (at college, university, etc).
- A representative of an NGO (non-profit organization) in any country.
- An owner or representative of a company or soletrader in Sweden.
You do not require to pay 25% VAT if you are:
- An owner or representative of a company or soletrader within the EU but outside of Sweden. Note: You will need to provide a VAT organization number upon request.

Are there any discounts?
Yes, we offer a discount of 50% (USD 250) to full-time students, NGOs, and start-ups. You will be asked to provide the below information upon request to confirm your status:
- Students – please provide a course attendance letter indicating full-time studies.
- NGOs – please provide the full organization name, organization number and country basis.
- Start-ups – please provide a tax registration letter showing the year when your company was activated. Your company needs to be maximum two years old.
How do I participate at the course?
The course is held via the online platform Zoom. All participants will sign in and join Zoom simultaneously. Ideally, you can use your computer, laptop or a surfing pad. (Note: We recommend a larger screen than a cell phone, for your own view as well as for ours). You will first need to install Zoom on your own device, which is easy and involves only a few steps. You will receive a link to join our Zoom meeting in good time before every class (Mondays and Fridays). The full course will be held in English.
If I change my mind, can I cancel my registration?
Yes, you may cancel your course registration, but no later than seven days prior to the course start. You will then be reimbursed 95% of your full payment of the course fee*. Hereafter, we will not be able to refund your payment, unless there are extraordinary circumstances. Such would be a disease or illness that will prevent you from participating in the course.* (If this is the case, then please send us a personal letter from your physician that states this is so.)

Will the course be organized again in the future?
Yes, we plan to hold the course again in the future, although the dates are not set yet.
