Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to attend the Master Class in Change for Sustainability in Stockholm, Sweden. The Master Class is a widely recognized course, organized and held by Alan AtKisson (CEO, Founder, Alan AtKisson Group) and Axel Klimek (CEO, Center for Sustainability Transformation). The course was first given in 2008 and has now been offered a dozen times across the world and to a wide audience, and always highly appreciated.
The three-day course presented and taught the Accelerator tools and approaches, and related theories and excercises, as well as the CforST approach to Sustainability Leadership. Together, these tools and approaches present consultants, practitioners and other actors with a diverse and customizable “tool box” for becoming more effective agents of change in the field of sustainability. The tool box may be used at local, regional and international level, and applied to private companies, government organizations, NGOs, the academia, etc. Twelve participants from different countries and professional backgrounds participated this time.
The curriculum covers the use of sustainability frameworks and models (including the Sustainability Compass), collaborative learning and planning processes (like “Pyramid”), strategic analysis tools for change management (“Amoeba”), and a personal deep-dive into improving your skills as an agent of change. (Center for Sustainability Transformation, 2015)
The course was very inspirational and valuable, and Alan and Axel were extraordinary as facilitators, presenters, and course leaders. I would highly recommend the Class to any person wishing to develop his/her skills, tools and approaches in the field of sustainability.
